There was a bit nostalgia in air this night as Bush coming to Omaha to perform. This was my first time getting to see these guys, but the moment was definitely not lost on me. The impact they have had on the music world in undeniable with hit spanning decades. You could feel the anticipation in the air, as they are a band that has fans that will show up in droves no matter when and no matter when. And as long as we’re talking about the crowd, let’s also mention the venue. The Steelhouse in Omaha is a new venue, but it’s a amazing place to watch a show. I’ve been able to cover multiple shows there now and love it.
As for the Bush show, amazing. Gavin Rossdale has not lost a step at all over the years. His voice sounds amazing and he’s just as charismatic as he’s always been. They kicked the show off with two big classics “Everything Zen” and “Machinehead” right out of the gate. A sold one, two punch that was a perfect way to kick off the night. The rest of the night was a mix of old favorites and some new songs mixed in. There is a definite connection between the crowd and Bush.
You can’t be around as long as Bush have been and not have a genuine fanbase like they do. Overall, it was a great night, I loved it. So many great songs. They crowd was amazing throughout. I have a new found appreciation of this band. You would have to have been living under a rock to not who these guys are. It was a great first show for me to see. I was a lukewarm fan at best before, now I’m a full-fledged fan, these guys are an amazing live band.
